"value": "Karim Adduchi is a fashion designer and illustrator from Imzouren, Morocco, currently based in Amsterdam.\nAdduchi\u2019s collections always begin with the rich heritage of Morocco. His work celebrates the textiles, weaving traditions and embroidery techniques practiced by Moroccan artisans for generations. This dress, with matching collar and cuffs, references the handira, a traditional Moroccan wedding blanket, made of white woven wool and embellished with sequins. Such blankets would be laid over a matrimonial bed and serve a talismanic function to protect the new bride.\r\nThe dress is part of a collection entitled She has 99 names. Adduchi describes the collection as seeking to celebrate the complexity of people. Adduchi collaborated with a diverse team of migrant makers on the collection, including seamstresses, embroiderers and carpenters from Morocco, Syria, Russia, and Eritrea, all of whom are now based in the Netherlands. "
